The Countdown to the Big ONE :)

Here we are about one month from Eva's first birthday!! Can you believe it? I sure can't. (Those getting this as an email may have to click into my blog to be able to see the videos. Youtube switched a few things around, embedding codes being one of them). Here are some more great things that little girl likes now.

She likes:
crawling
Barney
(my worst nightmare)
prune juice (definitely a Daddy's girl here)
playing the piano or rather BANGING the piano
green beans
buttons (the keyboard, my phone, anything)
her paci

She doesn't like:
sleeping
sitting still

Here are a couple of things that you'll find Eva doing on a regular day now.

Sleeping in odd positions

We finally have enough hair to get into a clip!

Happy 3 Week Birthday, Evie!

Miss Evie is 3 weeks old as of yesterday. No, I didn't have the time to update yesterday. The cold is making it's rounds. Miss Evie is still a little congested, but less time each day. That makes life a lot easier. Suctioning her nose out isn't fun for any of us. I feel like I am on the tail end of it and Pumpkin got it full blown. He actually went out and bought DayQuil, which for those that don't know him...well, that means he's pretty sick. He is taking a nap right now with Evie, so hopefully everyone will wake up happier and more well rested.

Today has been a big score for Mommy! I put Evie to sleep while fully awake and she went to sleep on her own...well after sticking her paci back in 20+ times and playing Josh Turner while running the washer. She loves her "white noise." :) The doctor wants us to continue this, so that Evie sees her bed as her bed and not US as her bed.

And 4 black trash bags later...a friend at Stephen's work gave him 4 black trash bags FULL of baby clothes. I worked my way through them last night and this morning and found SO many cute things. Bri and I will have the best dressed babies in the area!

Until next time...

Evie is 2 weeks old!

I can't believe it has been 2 weeks since we first held our baby girl! A lot has changed and we are learning so much, not only about the baby, but about each other. There is nothing more wonderful and amazing than a husband who gets up with the baby at 2 in the morning or does the dishes.

Today we had our 2 week check up with Dr. Ben. He was great, even though Evie hates her doctor's appointments. Something about being undressed and then poked at tends to get even the most understanding baby a little upset. She is gaining weight right on track, hit 9 pounds exactly today. Dr. Ben started talking about what to expect in the next 6 weeks (until her 2 month check up) and I realized he was telling me about concepts that I had read in Babywise. :) It was the greatest feeling to have the pediatrician behind us and encouraging us in the methods we are attempting to use. But it was also great to have him reassure me that it doesn't work for everyone and that it might take longer than the book tells you.

More visitors this week: our landlord and family and their nanny came down last night, bearing gifts. Nothing like a baby to bring on the clothes. Eva has so many amazing and cute clothes. We are still working our way through them, just so she can wear all of them at least once. :)

Tonight Dad & Mom are dropping by for a little while before heading home. This weekend we are going to keep working on her sleeping habits. She loves her swing and today she went down twice while still awake. Drowsy, but awake. PROGRESS!
