Finally on Friday, October 22nd, we have a tooth. I'm kind of surprised it is here actually. It seems like she has had all the signs for several months now.
I was just telling Gina how I was starting to think it was my imagination. On Thursday, Izzy spent the night and we were all feeling Eva's gums talking about hard they were and how long they had been that hard. On Friday, Carrie, Izzy, Eva, and I rode down to Fredericksburg for a girls day and while waiting for lunch, sure, enough, there are the little ridges in her mouth! It is on the lower left side and just the top, but definitely is a tooth. :) She has been such a good baby with it and looking back on it, last week was the first week that we had some uncontrollable crying. On Wednesday, she screamed for several hours in the morning and it was the first time that I remember not knowing what to do with a child. It was horrible- turns out that tooth really wanted to come through!
I'm happy she is feeling better and for the first time in months, she is sleeping through the night again! She is still waking up around midnight to 1am crying, but last night, she found her paci (we've been attaching it to her blankie), put it back in and went back to sleep. Little girl is now a tummy sleeper, so we only leave a recieving blanket in the crib now. She sleeps in a fleece sleeper with socks, a sleepsack, and a recieving blanket on top. Because we don't control the temperatures, in fact, we close all the vents from up stairs, it does get kind of chilly down here.
This weekend, I hit Frilly Frocks and Polliwogs on Saturday and got Eva 9 Gymboree outfits with tags still attached for $47! I am really excited about that. Normally I couldn't afford to shop at Gymboree, but some of the clothes I got were from this spring's collection. I am constantly amazed at the amount of money that people in Northern Virginia throw around.
On Thursday, I have another huge consignment sale to hit. I'm hoping to get the rest of Eva's winter clothes there. She is in serious need of some actual winter clothes, not spring clothes with tights and a jacket.
On a side note, if anyone is using the Hylands teething tablets, now is a good time to stop. They have had a recall as of today. http://www.hylands.com/news/hylands-teething-recall.php

Solids and Schedule
Well today we had a diaper like no other! Little Miss is definitely teething, but it has been so on and off that I can never tell. I've been trying to make the switch off of soy formula because of some of the studies done on it. But as the evidence has shown, not even lactose sensitive formula is working for Evie right now. So we are making the switch back to soy, I think.
I am also trying to eliminate the middle of the night feeding/s. She is still sleeping 7-8 hours, but because she is eating so little during the day, she has to make up for it at night. People have told me that since she is no longer sleeping through the night, it means she is ready for solids. Well, she is eating as much as she wants and she is still waiting up. I'm really hoping for that tooth or teeth to pop through so everyone can get some sleep. Right now her schedule looks like this:
7am get up, leave for work
8am feed 6oz
9:30-11am nap
11am feed 6oz
2pm feed 6oz
2:30-4:30/5:30 nap
5/6:00 feed 6oz
7pm bedtime
She eats solids whenever I eat. And she eats whatever she can off of my plate. She is slowly branching out to more and more table food. So glad we skipped baby food and went straight to big girl food. :) We tried to feed her baby food tonight and she decided it was gross and blew it all over us. It was one of those moments as a parent where you have to laugh. She just kind of got this look on her face like, "I've been gypped!" And then she proceeded to reach for my plate with spaghetti on it. She had her first taste of yogurt tonight and was not a big fan.
I will try to get some more pictures uploaded soon and even a video. I wish google would cooperate and let me upload something for once!
Until next time...

Some more October pictures :)
Our camera deperately needs a charging so I can get some new pictures! We were just noticing today that Eva is growing out of her changing table already! :) Thank goodness we got it for $10, so its not a big deal. I was just realizing that we furnished Eva's room for $60. We paid $10 for the changing table and $50 for the rocker. Izzy gave us the crib for a baby present and one of the Baileys neighbors gave us the dresser.
This past Friday, Eva and I went to a rummage sale and it was so fun! Crazy, cold, but fun. Izzy came along to help out with Eva. We got several pairs of jeans for $1 each, a bag of clothes for Eva for $7, some CDs and DVDs for $1 each, set of the Bobbsey Twins books for 50 cents each, a jewelry box for Eva for $3, and the list goes on. All in all, it was well worth our time. :)
Little Miss is rolling all over the place. She just won't stop for anything. :) Since we are doing baby led weaning, we have started introducing a couple of foods for her to play with. At this point, it is about learning and not really about nutrition. I know she is ready for more solids, so we are introducing them as fast as we can while we still watch for allergies.
She is not eating as much as I would like during the day because of her teeth, so she is waking up a lot to eat. It doesn't really bother me because they are basically a dream feed and I can study while holding her. :) I could numb her gums up or give her Tylenol during the day, but I'm really reluctant to stick medicine or drugs in a body that is not my own.
Pray for me that I can continue to be a testimony to some ladies that I have been communicating with online. They are all Christians and it is a great encouragement to hear from other Christians that are like minded and open. I want to be a testimony to them like they have been to me.
I am currently working 4 days a week and I love having Wednesdays off, a nice break in the middle of the week. We've been staying busy with lots of play dates to get some interaction for Megan and Nicholas.
At the end of the month, I'll be hitting a kids consignment sale in our area for some more winter clothes for Eva. She still has lots of dresses and leggings to go with the dresses, but she really needs some pants and shirts for the days when it has been super cold. I'll also have my eye out for some hats and socks. She is still not fitting shoes, her feet are still too chubby. :)
Working my way through school has been really hard with everything else going on. Between work, school, my house, teething Eva, and Stephen, my life has been nothing less than one big race. Mom keeps reminding me to prioritize, but that is much easier said than done. When Stephen is home, I want to be with him. But since I just got home from work, I really need to make dinner. But I'm behind on school, so I need to do that. Ugh. Like I said, prioritizing is much easier said than done. This weekend has been good because I've gotten more done than normal. I'm only 2 chapters behind instead of 7. You still can't see my couch because of all the clean laundry, BUT my kitchen counters are showing. I have two laundry baskets full of clean laundry that IS folded and not put away, BUT I have a sleeping baby and a happy husband. I think I'm doing okay...for now. :)
Until next time...
