Happy late 9 months!

Boo is crawling! Well sort of. Its a very slowish army crawl, but she is moving. She still prefers to roll everywhere, but its exciting to see her scooting along on her tummy. We are going to try to get a video this week if we can.

We are gearing up for Christmas. I only have 2 more gifts and then I am DONE. Stephen still has a bit to do. We have decided that we are going to have a sleepover on Christmas Eve wherein Nate, MJ, and Izzy are going to spend the night. On Christmas Eve, we each get to unwrap some jammies from an anon person to wear that night and then on Christmas morning. Well, not really anon, but next year, it will be! :D I was in charge of Nate and Eva, Stephen is in charge of Monica, Monica is getting Stephen, Izzy is in charge of me, and Nate is in charge of Izzy. We are really excited!

Moving is in our near future since the landlords are selling the house, so we have started packing. No idea where yet, but we are looking at getting a large townhouse to rent with Nate, Monica, and Izzy. Pray for us that the Lord will guide us. Today, Mr. Bailey goes to talk to the CEO of Dunbar about Stephen's job, so be in prayer for that as well.

We Got Our Tree!

Stephen picked up our tree on Tuesday night. :) And he did a great job- it is so beautiful, perfect, and smells so yummy.

Eva loved it and couldn't stop looking at it. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get a picture of her facing the camera. She just wanted to stare at the tree.

We did the lights while she was awake and watching.

Then I did the ornaments after she went to bed. Stephen didn't particularly care what order they went on, but knowing myself, I knew it would have to be perfect (at least in my eyes).

Here is Eva's ornament. I wanted something non-tacky, but yet memorable. We were going to do her handprint, but she just wanted to squeeze the clay. So we did her little foot! :)

We now have a TON of presents under the tree. Right now Nicky, RJ, Ray & Gina, part of Monicas, all of Eva's, Lilys, James and Briana, Cali, Casey, and Stephen's Christmas presents are under that tree. It doesn't fit under there in the slightest, but I am sure once we send these gifts off to their proper homes, it will be perfect. I'm going to try to get a good picture tonight.

We also hung the stockings. We have 3 large ones with our first initials on them for Stephen, Eva, and I and then 3 tiny ones with their first initials for Nathan, Monica, and Izzy. They are adorable! Izzy's stocking is already full and MJ's has a little bit of a surprise. We only have a couple more gifts until we are done- I want to just have fun with my shopping for the next month instead of not having an option and HAVING to go shopping. Plus I have found some AWESOME deals to have things shipped straight to the house, so I won't have to get a lot of gifts by fighting the crowds. The less stress = more time as a family.

Once I get all my ducks in a row with the presents, we start the baking. Stephen and I are going to cook lots of goodies together. We also are going to find a little boy/girl around Nicky's age and one around Eva's age and go shopping to get presents for them. We have done this for several years even though we have not celebrated in the past because for many children, this is the only toy or gift that they get all year. Its a very small way of making a difference but since having kids really hits home. Each of us has also gotten a teen to buy a couple of gifts for, so that should be fun to shop for as well.

Christmas spirit is definitely in the air over here!

"Mama" and "Dada"

We've got some words! We hear Eva all day, "Mama, Mama, Mama." And then when she is upset, "MAMA! MAMA! MAMA!"

Finally on Friday, we got a "Dada!" She looked right into Stephen's eyes and said it. Wow! The look on his face was exactly like what I saw when he first heard Eva's heartbeat. It just melted my heart. He has since then been on the mission to get her say it again. She has only said it twice, but both times have been to him. :) So maybe she doesn't know, maybe she does.

This weekend we are going to Nana and Pop-pop's (Stephen's grandparents). We are hoping to get some pictures of the 4 generations- should be a fun time. They live in Lancaster, PA, so we are hoping to hit a couple of shops for some handmade gifts/blocks for Eva.

Eva's tooth is continuing to come through and we are back to 10 hours at night. She sleeps from 7pm to 5am, eats 8oz, and then sleeps until 8/8:30. Hopefully she keeps that up.

Today I had a chance to observe at Bean Tree preschool in our area for school. It was a wonderful experience and I realized how much I miss the preschool/daycare setting. I observed in the infant classroom and in the three year old room since that is the main age groups that I work with.

On a side note, I've come to realize more and more that although people may not agree with choices that Stephen and I are making for our family, I don't care. If we have prayed about it and believe that we can do it in clean conscience, then it shouldn't matter.

That being said, Stephen and I have decided to celebrate Christmas this year. He remembers Christmas with very fond memories as a child spending time with family. We will not be teaching Eva about Santa Claus. It will be a celebration of our family and of Christ's fulfillment of His prophecy of one day coming to earth and dying for our sins. As Stephen was taught, we plan on teaching that Jesus' birthday is not actually on Christmas, but that is the day that we choose to celebrate. The focus will not be on the gifts, but rather on family and Christ. This will be my first Christmas as well as Eva's and we are very excited about it.

I don't expect most of the people reading to understand this, but I do ask that you respect the decision that we have come to. We love you all just the same!

I have also decided to make this blog private because of some of the "reporting" that we are getting. I wish that people could read things because they truly care and be happy for everything going on in our lives. I'm so tired of hearing about everything I do from other family members. If I left someone off this list, then please email me and I'll add you.

We love you all!
